Our Mission
Based in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, the middle school, high school, and college aged members bring the joy of music to and conduct other volunteer service activities for the sick, the poor, and the homeless. Accordingly, the Songbird has entertained the homeless at Thanksgiving; played at medical centers, food kitchens, and senior homes; and, through the Adopt-A-Road program, beautified towns.
The Songbird is a 501(c)(3) organization under the umbrella of the Northern New Jersey Chinese Association. All contributions are deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
The Songbird Youth Volunteer Group has been to the following:
New Jersey:
Oak Ridge Senior Housing Center, Bergen County Senior Housing Center, St. Barnabus Medical Center, United Reform Church, Plainfield Church, Hillsdale House, and more!
The Songbird has done the following:
Adopt-A-Road Program in Somerset County, Annual Christmas Toy Drive, working with Legwork for Lungs, Books for Taiwan, Bernards Township Library Chinese New Year window display, Thanksgiving Food Drive, and more!
